Kalema Boateng, Chief Executive Officer has executed events, projects, and programs within the private, non-profit and government sector. A Bronx, NY native, Kalema Boateng is a graduate of Barnard College of Columbia University and John Jay College of Criminal Justice. She received her B.A. in Psychology and Education and Masters in Public Administration. Having served as a campus leader in the Columbia University community she was appointed a position as Black Heritage Month Fashion Showcase Coordinator in 2009 and Black Heritage Month Chair in 2011.
She was a Bear Pin recipient at Barnard College, the most prestigious award in the college that showcased campus leadership and community organizing and was nominated by her peers as a Senior Marshal for Barnard College commencement. As one of the first leaders in the Barnard Athena Scholars Program, Youth About Business Alumni and Development School for Youth her dedication to assessing students needs motivated her to create a new philanthropic endeavor titled Arts Day in which students in the Columbia University community dedicated themselves to a day of service and mentorship showcasing their talents to underrepresented teenagers. Arts Day was supported by Ms. Boateng’s belief that children’s educational development is contingent upon meaningful exposure at a young age. Her social action project focused on three areas through which Kalema was able to motivate art educational reform within the New York City Department of Education.
In 2013, Ms. Boateng was accepted as an intern within the White House. She supported strategic engagement and management efforts on behalf of the Office of Public Engagement and Intergovernmental Affairs, including President Barack Obama.
As the Founder of Boateng Creatives LLC, she centers her work in collective community impact while providing customized consulting services to clients one on one, with their project and organizational management needs.
